✓ Be concise - Keep emails to one page or less ✓ Be specific - Include bill numbers, dates, or specific incidents ✓ Be personal - Share your story and how the issue affects you ✓ Be respectful - Even when disagreeing, maintain a professional tone ✓ Include contact info - Representatives prioritize constituent communications ✓ Follow up - If you don't receive a response within 2-3 weeks, send a polite follow-up ✓ Call too - Phone calls carry weight; ask to speak with the legislative aide handling your issue

Find Your Representatives:

    • Federal: house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative and senate.gov

    • State: findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov

    • Local: Check your city or county website

Best Times to Contact:

    • Early in the legislative session for new bills
